1. Firstly the Educational Certificate or Document will be attested by the State Level Attestation Department / General Administrative Department (GAD) / Higher Education Department (HED) / Regional Attestation Center (RAC) e. i. the Certificate or Document will be attested from the Indian State’s Attestation Department from where it has been issued. For Example, if a Degree Certificate has been issued from Calcutta University, then it will be attested by the Regional Attestation Center (RAC), Kolkata. On the other hand, if the Degree Certificate has been issued from Nagpur University, then the Degree Certificate will be attested by the Higher Education Department (HED), Mumbai and so on.
2. After completion the above said Procedure the Educational Certificate or Document will be attested by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.
3. Finally the Educational Certificate or Document will be attested by the Nigeria Embassy or Consulate present in India.
Procedure 02: Alternate Procedure
The Educational Certificates or Documents issued from Indian Schools, Colleges, Universities or various other sources of educational Institutes could be legalized from Nigeria Embassy or Consulate as per the following steps which is the alternate, genuine and most prestigious attestation Procedure practiced in India since long time,
1. Firstly the Educational Certificate or Document will be attested by the Home Department, Mumbai (Mumbai Mantralaya Attestation).
2. After completion the above said Procedure the Educational Certificate or Document will be attested by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.
3. Finally the Educational Certificate or Document will be legalized by the Nigeria Embassy or Consulate present in India.

Attestation of Indian Non-educational Certificate or Document for Nigeria
Procedure 01: Main Procedure
The Non-Educational Certificates or Documents issued from authorized Indian Authorities could be attested from Nigeria Embassy or Consulate as per the following Procedure,
1. Firstly the Non-Educational Certificate or Document will be attested by the State Level Attestation Department / General Administrative Department (GAD) / Regional Attestation Center (RAC) e. i. the non-educational Certificate or Document will be attested from the Indian State’s Attestation Department from where it has been issued. For Example, if a Marriage Certificate has been issued from Lucknow Municipality, then it will be attested by the Regional Attestation Center (RAC), Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh.
